I moved my Angel Red in the fall/winter (if you can call it that here) It did well with the move and is already in bloom. The Parfianka has more blooms and small fruit set and Eversweet is just starting out. The last two were purchased and planted in the fall. I hope to keep them trimmed to a hedge rather than tree shaped. My Angel Red never got bigger than 3 feet in the old location, guess I will see how it does in the new one. First year the fruit was horrid. Second season we got a few and they were good but I did not notice much difference from the Wonderful

I'm not an expert, but I've planted a lot of bare root trees. Last year I planted a BR pomegranate in Feb, and it did nothing through May, so I assumed it was probably dead and ordered a potted Pom from someone else. The original Pom started leafing out about a week after I planted the second one beside it. You can always start snapping off the furthest out twigs. If they're soft or green, you're in business. If they're dry or dead, keep snapping down. Even if they're dead all the way down, the roots may send up new shoots which is still ok because Poms aren't grafted.

Angel Red tastes very similar to the Pom Wonderful variant that is sold in stores. The plant is very vigorous, probably more vigorous than Wonderful, and ripens about a month earlier than Wonderful. I grow a number of pomegranates at my home in Phoenix.

EmeraldEclipse, my tree is about 4 years old now (4 years total, not the time since I got it). Where it sits now it gets about 5 hours of sun and if I had a better spot with more sun and planted in the ground, I would have probably double the growth. I have two Angel Reds. One from Monrovia (growers) and the second from a regular nursery. I can tell you that compared to the Monrovia Angel Red, the nursery pom does not compare. I bought the Monrovia Angel red for close to 50 bucks while I got the nursery pom for 24 bucks and the nusery pom was 50% bigger. Well looks can be deceiving as my Monrovia Angel Red is much stronger, much fuller, much more greener and a excellent producer since day 1.
