Plant ID please! TALL, yellow flowers, Oct blooms

Very tall plant, yellow flowering in October all up the thick stalk. 10 feet tall, perennial. Lanceolate leaves are sticky/tacky to the touch, like post-it notes. Thank you!

Very tall perennial growing in South Georgia. NOT Hardy Sunflower like someone suggested. Yellow flowering all up the 10 foot stalk. Thick stalks with lanceolate, dark green leaves. Blooms October. Trying to help a friend identify this.

It is exactly like Helianthus maximilliani - a perennial sunflower, a native of North America that I grew before. I had to remove it because it bloomed so late in the fall that it was too cold to clean up afterwards.

The pic looks very much like Rudbeckia hirta, and the white tips to the petals is drought stress. This happens on all Rudbeckia species I've grown when they get too dry. Cherry Brandy at the Ball trial gardens was very consistent. The one plant I have is much like the marketing pics. Darker, but still very nice. It is a seed strain however (like all R. hirta varieties that I know of) and some variability is likely. I'll see if I have a pic when I get home. Aha, Wisconsintom - you called my bluff. You're right. But then with the Cassia you have the leaves to go by. I just do these things by instinct, not having any botanical training whatsoever. I just get a feeling based on a lot of time staring at plants and this time it was for Scrophulariaceae.
