I really like them. Hopefully in the future I will be able to put in a bigger pond and I can try again with the Golden Orfes and do it right by getting about 5 or 6. For now I am going to pass on them as I see the advice the guy in the pond store told me that one was good, was wrong. Meantime I rewarded myself by going back to the pond store and buying two new fish. I got a stunner of a butterfly koi in a strange metalic almost mustard old gold color. I know that might not sound attractive but the fish is lovely. Also a most beautiful deep almost red "goldfish" with the most long, long, long tail and fins.

Most likely mink - what state? I had one two years ago - St Louis MO area. Saw water all over my surrounding rocks - looked in the pond fish seemed fine but I heard something rustle in the boxwoods. Hour later same thing but all the plants were disturbed and the in pond lighting was floating. Didn't want to even look so I waited until next morning to clean up the mess. Used my net to position plants and hooked something on the bottom. See photo - must have been hit by a falling rock and got knocked out. No marks to body. Fortunately wasn't alive when I was in the pond because they can bite your fingers clean off and they are VERY nasty. Hard to tell from the photo but the mink was very large. This year have something else. 1/2 fish are gone - found one with its head bitten off. May just not restock unless I can find out whats killing them. Not fair to the fish.

Hello...just coming across this post (read them all by the way) lol Always searching for info on my Betta Goliath. I'll start by saying I'm not sure where some get their improper info from....so I will go with the more consistent info which seems to be more correct in all the research that I have looked up myself. Would like to also add that just because someone works in or around selling these beauties don't always know what the heck they are talking about they are mainly there to sell & will tell you whatever (like they know) to make that sale. I use to be one of those people that worked at the Mall in the pet store. Ok on with how I came about getting my Goliath :) My daughter had bought me a 3 gal. tank kit for Christmas this past. Well from having many tanks in my younger years I began searching on the internet for which fish to choose for this small tank she bought me lol and which fish will do well together. The Betta's beauty caught my eye :) So decided that that is what I would go with...next step as to who can share this tank with him... Got all my info & went shopping. Not a happy camper on seeing how these beautiful fish are housed!! (not that I didn't see this online) but seeing in person is just awful. Of course I wanted to buy them all! But couldn't of course lol I shopped a few pet stores (leaving with a sad feeling that is) went to Meijer's and that is where I found Goliath...to my surprise they all looked healthy in nice clean plastic bowls made and labeled for the Betta's. I bought him and headed over to Jack's Aquarium which is the next best taken care of pet store. There I bought my dwarf frogs & 6 neon tetra's & a plant for Goliath to rest or sleep. I have a happy tank & Goliath is loving his new pad of room to move. He makes his bubble nests (in which is a good sign that he is happy). My neon tetra's didn't make it because they all got sucked up in my filter tube :( Sooo this opened the door for me to buy a algae eater...so I bought a Otocinclus catfish (very peaceful fish) & he won't out grow my tank ;) What a wonderful bubbly personality Goliath has. I now finger feed him :) I'm happy and my tank is very happy it all shows! Ps in left back corner of pic you can see the 2 dwarf frogs playing in the bubble stream lol but I turned that off because Goliath likes calm tank best ;)

hi kmgard... i love design on a dime!! where are Summer and Charles when you need them most!! anyway...we did a DIY kitchen (still haven't finished backsplash, sadly) and several of the previous posters hit on some of the things i think worked for us, cheaply. 1) home depot has amber globes for pendant lamps. we got schoolhouse electric fixtures (whew expensive) but home depot globes ($4). if the lamp accepts the 2 1/2 or 2/4 inch standard globe (can't remember the standard right now), you can get your amber glass globes at the big box. 2) ikea wood counters have worked nicely for us. people have actually been impressed (haha they were cheaper than formica...). we got the birch. 3) what distinguishes your inspiration kitchen for me is the light. were those photos done professionally??? this is what we sought for our kitchen and what your buyer will appreciate...more light. we added doors where we had windows, plus 2 more windows (sacrificing a wall cupboard). i would advise that whatever are you choose to spend the most on, it would be adding an extra or bigger window if you can. The thing that is really great (IMO) about the inspiration kitchen is that all the light comes from the sides of the room, without a skylight. it's striking! 4) the other detail that you could really replicate successfully might be the open framework between kitchen and dining. maybe not to the same scale, but that white wood (and relatively simple) frame over the peninsula is a very classy touch IMO good luck kren
