I agree. Isolate the plant, ditch the medium, or cook it in the oven. Wash the plant (I have used liquid dish detergent and temperate water) and treat. Don't be shy about submerging the plant for awhile as drowning is a great cure. Do not re-pot yet. Place in a pre-soaked terracotta pot with NO medium to harbor the boogers, the smallest that will fit the plant, so that the roots are bumping against walls...and then place on pebbles with water. The clay should barely make contact with the water (to give off humidity). Spray x2 daily. You can put your regular fert in your spray bottle. Keep up the water level in the pebble tray so that the clay breathes water but no water should be in the pot. You may ask, "Why not just put the pot in water" Well, my unscientific, experiential answer is that the pebble tray enhances the general humidity around the plant. I could be wrong here. Anyway, treat the plant one, or better, two more times over the course of 10-14 days. Repeat the soap treatment too and wash your pebbles and pot with soap and hot water. Since your plant will be out of medium for a few weeks pay attention to keeping the terracotta moist and the humidity up. I would assume the violets have them (if they were not the source). They cannot handle the same tx (treatment). That's more complicated. Don't toss your old friend. She sounds worth saving.

Thanks, Wildchild for the invitation. I work out of town four days a week and have been doing so since February. This was when I started losing weight. Prior to this I worked at home and had WAY too much refrigerator access. While I am here I walk in the mornings before work between 45 minute and an hour and do a light weight work out. At home I am able to do a longer weight work out. I just use dumbbells. I have no scale access while I'm out of town so I don't weigh while I'm here. I find that if I don't get enough sleep I don't lose weight. Today I had grocery store sushi for lunch, I wish I had any kind of idea about the calorie count is in this stuff! I had a few fresh figs for dessert. Lots of water all day. I still have at least 50 pounds to lose. Seems like a long long journey sometimes. I really want to be thin right now! I didn't have any patience with WW, I hate sitting still for meetings! And I don't have the fortitude to go back several times and check out the different meeting leaders to see if one suits me better than another. One thing I have noticed about the WW (and many others as well) frozen meals is that the sodium content is rather high. I have just eliminated cookies, chips, crackers, bread and butter, and all fried foods, as well as ice cream. More vegies and fresh fruit and smaller portions. More exercise. So far so good. BarnMom

Sorry I haven't been back to explain, but I have the flu, and have been recuperating all day, and being upset about all I have to do and don't feel like doing it. He wrote and told me he waited for 30 minutes and then left. I wrote back telling him I was sorry, and I DID send him a link to the thread on The Single Life where I told them what a gentleman he was and how excited I was about the date. He called last night, even though he hadn't read the email yet, because he wanted to make sure I was o.k. See, I told you he was nice. I told him that I just changed the day in my mind to the day I ALWAYS have off during the day, because I'm used to doing everything that day, and he understood. He also said that he had made a backup plan, so he wasn't too upset. He is helping his parents with some stuff, and then there are the holidays, and he's going out of town, so we decided to get together after he gets back. By then, I'll have some of my stuff done too, so it will definitely be less stressful. He is a wonderful man. I can only pray that this is the one God had in mind for me, since He has made me wait so long!

I am with Pharaoh on this one. With the two big posts on the one end, it is impossible to get the same amount of overhang on all sides. So far we have just been talking about the two shorter ends and the overhang there not being equal. Of course they are not equal. The two posts extend out further than the rest of the perimeter of the island. Say, for grins, that you convince the granite company to remake the top. They make it so that the overhang above the posts is equal to the overhang above the apron on the other side of the island. Now look at the view of the corner like you posted alone, above. The lip extending over the short, end side of the island will now be longer than the lip over the post on the long side of the island! You would look at the corner, see the different overhangs on two sides of the same post and say it was wrong. What you saw when you looked at the island the first time was that the lip over the posts did not stick out as far as the lip over the side without the posts. You are right. This is true. It is true because the POSTS THEMSELVES create the asymmetry. Go stand at the end of the island with one post on each side in front of you. Measure the overhanging lip of granite above the apron that is between the posts. If that is the same amount of overhang that exists above the apron on the other three sides, the top was made correctly.
