Marie Van Houtte: At the base of this rose is a split cane. It is a main cane that supports the rose, and supports many other canes. I know that it will give me new canes, and growth until summer, but it will need to give me more growth from the base.
If I try to propogate it after the first bloom, and if the cane that I take the cutting from looks healthy, do you think that the cutting will be healthy and if it grows will give me a good rose like this one?
Is Marie Van Houtte easy to take a cutting from?
Is Arethusa easy to take a cutting from?
Do any of you have experience with Guy de Maupassant "no spray"? It defolitated last year, but I let it go because I was so busy. If it starts over, and starts clean, and I keep it clean, do you think it can go "no spray"? (Blackspot is my concern).
Thanks in advance. We must have had a hard freeze after these roses had pulp. It looks like I have quite a few problems this year.
