Coastal Plant (Very strange) Covered in translucent orbs.

I discovered this plant on a rocky peninsula jutting out into the pacific ocean. Its proximity to the sea (20ft above the crashing waves) made me think it would be a hardy specimen. But it turned out to be quite fragile. Its leaves and stem are covered by small glimmering orbs/spheres. At first I believed them to be salt crystals but they were in fact attached to the plant. They seemed to be filled with water. It was in bloom... (I think)with pink blossoms. (The petals were also covered in the orbs. In the middle of the petals there appeared to be a blackberry shaped growth.
