Need help w/ newly planted Rose Glow Barberry - possibly damaged?

I planted 3 Rose Glow Barberry bushes in a landscape border this past week. (This is my first experience w/ this shrub.) Two nights ago it got pretty cold, so I covered all of my annuals/veggies/newly planted perennials and the 3 barberry bushes to prevent frost damage. When I uncovered my plants the next day, the barberry bushes didn't look too hot. (Ironically, they were the only specimens that demonstrated ANY damage.) All 3 bushes are demonstrating dead, shriveled leaves on about 1/2 of the plant - and the damage in on the same half of each plant that - incidentally - faces the south. Now I don't know what to do... Should I leave them alone? Prune them back? And how long will it take for them to recover? HEEEELLLLLPPPP!?!?!?!?!?
