My Pond Is a Jungle Now, Want to Clear Out

always_outside

OK, I used to crave the sight of lush, fast-growing plants....Until I got what I wished for. My pond is overgrown with all sorts of plants that I bought last year. Pond is one only one year old. I can barely keep up with the growth and find myself pulling, cutting, etc way more than I want. I want to pull everything out (umbrella palm, lilies, water celery, clover, water lantana, parrot feather, etc.) and cut them down and pot them up. They are currently just in gravel in the pond (plant pockets) and growing beyond my control.

My question is, our weather is 100+ these days... Will any of my plants die of shock? I heard that dividing should be done in the fall, but I don't want to wait that long. Please advise.
