Thank you Carole for taking these pictures and posting them right away. I was hoping someone would post about the day. How fun to see the familiar scenes at Ashdown. Once they move to the new property, I just *have* to come down for I won't have a picture of the place in my mind's eye anymore. The line of crock pots in the barn made me hungry, LOL! And the weather looked really good to me - no snow and ice to be seen and sweatshirt weather; just the kind of thing I've enjoyed getting away to in past late winters - that unfortunately I just could not do this year.
BTW, I love the yellow t-shirt that said "volunteer." Perfect attire for the day. You guys are great! :-)

I'm glad you enjoyed them.....we had fun! The weather was actually gorgeous. I had worn my heavier clothes usually reserved for Panther games and was actually too warm. A pleasant surprise. We had chili for lunch (regular and vegetarian)as well as some wonderful baked ziti. Of course there was salad, fruit, fresh bread and salsa with chips.

We visited the new location....I just forgot to take pictures. I think I saw Liz taking pictures there so hopefully she will post those. The new spot is a quaint nursery with little shops scattered within. There is a large expanse of property out back where the greenhouses will be going. Paul described the improvements and plantings that he was planning on. The best part of the location is that it is located on the Cherokee Scenic Highway so the potential for walkin business is great.

Thanks to everyone who came. We dug up and potted some 400-500 smaller roses that won't survive being dug by a bare-root rose digger. I was thrilled we got as far as we did and it means that job is now finished. All in all some 1200 roses have been dug up and potted.

Next job is to clean up the roses to be dug up "mechanically".

Liz did take pics of the new place and I'm she'll post them. It's pretty spiffy and it was fun showing it off and hearing everyone's feedback.

I am so glad to get a glimpse of what I couldn't come to. Thank you for posting.

Great to see the pictures! It's nice to see some "behind the scenes" stuff. Thanks to all those that went down and helped. Maybe a few of my future babies were in those greenhouses :)
