The frogs may eat each other as well. If you can find crickets it is fun to feed them. Big bullfrogs can eat smaller birds and sometimes will drown bigger birds they grab but are too big to swallow. Lately all my frogs, of six years, left or were eaten by somthing and I have one lone young bullfrog. He was about 1 inch long and has grown to about 4 inches fat on worms. I call him 'The King' as he is, for now, King of the pond. He is probably offspring from the bigger frogs and no doubt would have been eaten by them if they were still around. It is a frog eat frog world:-) To attract earthworms I keep a pile of moist leaves and they congregate under them and eat the leaves. As long as the area is moist and there is plant material the earthworms stay. I also find them under potted plants that are outdoors on the edge of the pond (on the soil surface). Frogs will eat anything that moves they can fit, or partially fit, into their mouth.

Hi Thornberry, I had a similar experience with my blueberries recently. Not exactly the same problems as yours but I too put them in the soil without amending or acidifying it and applied on it an acidic fertilizer. Surprisingly, all adapted well to this, except one, Misty, which really seemed to be doomed. As a last resort method, I dug holes around the current dripline of this plant and put in sulphur, then spread sulphur around the topsoil and drenched it in water. As the weather has been warming up, I notice new leaves being thrown by this sick plant. In the meantime, I've amended soil around all others with sulphur too and they have nice green leaves. Not as dark green as I've seen in the pictures, but these are in a spot where they get direct sun for 6-7 hours each day, and dappled shade in the afternoon. Net-net: I would not write off your blueberries yet. BTW, I recently visited my trusted nursery and asked the person (whom I consider knowledgeable) the same question: whether it's necessary to plant blueberries in acidic soil in the ground or just apply acidic fertilizer. This person had previously guided me to grow 2 varieties of blueberries in the container and I have had excellent growth for past 5 years or so. He confirmed that, even in the ground, it's not necessary to amend the soil, but it's sufficient to use acidic fertilizer. Just sharing my experience!!

Hi! I think that when it was in the compostible pot, it was drying out too fast. You probably shocked it when you cut the roots, in a compostible pot, you don't have to remove the pot, just stick it in the new one, and the peat will just desintegrate. where I live, mint takes a LOT of water. But you are colder so you may not want as much water. Instead of a schedule, it's better to feel the soil, if it's drying, it needs more, but if there is no drainage hole at the bottom of the pot, the roots might rot. Mint spreads, it's what it does best, so continuing to pot in a bigger pot is usually necessary, but you can do other things, one is, mint roots very easily, so when the plant gets crowded, you can cut a branch and stick it in water until it gets roots, then pot that up. In my experience, you can't over water mint, but I live in a climate like Southern Italy, so I don't know about your climate. Never fear, as long as you cut branches and put them in water, you will never lose your dear mint plant. :o)

It is true that water will penetrate grout. Tile is also not waterproof. That is why you need to use waterproofing of some sort in the whole shower, not just the bench. You can use plastic behind the substrate (cement backer board or mud, but never green drywall). Or you can use something on top of the substrate, such as a membrane like kerdi or a liquid like hydroban. If you use kerdi, you can use regular drywall instead of backer board.
