Le Pactole, Mme. Lombard, Nevada, Niles Cochet, Out of Yesterday, Sunshine Sally all great roses. But we have no blackspot, and I've heard OOY blackspots.

Cass beat me to it. These roses are bulletproof here -- but we have no blackspot.
Eugene de Beauharnais rusts like an old bucket here.

Every spring, EdB is very beautiful, foliage wonderful, first flush magnificent. I decide not to shovel-prune it, and then it turns into a stinker for another 10 months.

Le Pactole and Niles Cochet are absolutely splendid here.

Eugene De Beauharnais, Mme. Lombard and Secret Garden Noisette did well for me, although EdB was vertically challenged. Again, this is Southern California. I have two plants of Secret Garden Noisette again because it was so carefree and bloomed a lot.

Robert, I really wanted Belle Biblis, unfortunately, they were out of them. I don't have any of the others either, but really like the looks of Dainty Bess. Carrie

With the caveat that I grow roses in semi-arid Southern Calfornia, I would note the following:
Dainty Bess tends to mildew something powerful
Guinee is a gorgeous climber, but will mildew like crazy the first two or three years; then it seems to mature enough to resist it. The color is truly wonderful.
Eugene de Beauharnais is a generous bloomer in the spring, but less so in the fall and the flowers are smaller.
Niles Cochet can be something of a thug here; I don't know how it will do for you.
Nigrette in no way resembles the famous picture of it in McFarland's book; aside from sunburn, stinginess of bloom, and small flowers, it is okay.

Be sure to get your order in soon, before Sequoia closes for good. I hate to see them go, but I guess Mr. Moore has earned a little time off.

Eugène de Beauharnais is an unmitigated disaster in the eastern part of the country as we could read reports and reports agin stating this fact.

I ordered Break'Day from Pickering, will get here next week, so no opinion on that rose jut hope, but the photos show a very beautiful rose. According to Vintage it is very fragrant.

Nigrette was very blackspot prone for me, defoliated totally and last summer the canes turned black and the rose died in days. (It came from another vendor, whose roses I lose one after each other, although the plants received looked nice and big own roots.)

Out of Yesteryear is also a blackspot queen in this part of the country as far as I know.

I'm appreciating these comments. I really don't have an interest in adding any "divas" to my yard, especially when there are other roses out there that will be happy to be added to my yard.

Robert, Sequoia's Secret Garden Noisette is actually Secret Garden Musk Climber. I think you already have that rose. OOY had terrible blackspot here and I rarely witnessed a bloom that wasn't marred by thrips at any time of the year. Homere is lovely when it actually opens a bloom but it balled very badly here. Niles Cochet is huge and beautiful. Eugene defoliates, grows new foliage and continues blooming through it all. If you don't have SdlM Rouge, you need to add that one to your order. I have been very impressed with that rose! It blooms constantly and the blooms are so pretty. Yes it gets blackspot but it doesn't seem fazed by it.

I have a very high blackspot pressure and extreme humidity here so these may perform very differently for you, in your garden.

I appreciate your comments. The picture of SGNoisette looks very different from SGMC. SGMC seems single whereas the noisette looks very double...on HMF, anyhow.

How long do you Teas take to get established? These warm/cold end of winter days/nights causes many of mine to have dieback.

Robert, they are totally different roses but Sequoia listed it incorrectly on their web site. They don't have Secret Garden Noisette, just SGMC. I know this because I spoke with Carolyn at Sequoia. I just don't want you to think you are getting SGN and receive a rose you already have.

The Teas can take a few years to get established here. If I weren't an extremely patient person, I probably wouldn't have any Tea's! The first two to three years I wondered what all the fuss was about and then they matured and I fell in love with them. Once their roots are established they take off growing and the blooms are constant and larger. MDC literally sat in my garden not growing more than a half inch for nearly two years. Now she is 6 ft tall and nearly as wide. The challenge of growing roses in our transitional zone is exactly as you say, warm days then hard freezes. It seems I always have some damage but so far the roses have bounced back.

Mme Lombard is one of my favorite roses. She was new to me last year and grew 8' tall and 8' wide in one year. I'd call that established! I want to say that BS resistance is good, but BS was not very prominent in the new rose garden last year ... it seems like it takes a couple of years to really get a grip on the roses. She smells divine, as do most teas for me. Blooms in big flushes, not continuous like some teas.

I have an EDB that is in a pot. Never sprayed, and just like the governor staying a sentence at the last minute, has escaped the shovel many times. However, when in bloom its great. Other times it looks like a rose Charlie Brown would have. This past summer was a great one for it, and I am convinced it likes dry heat. I am currently in Roanoke, but it acted the same in Richmond. Probably not a good idea looking at your criteria.

Since no one has chimed in on Robert Leopold let me do so. I had it in Southern California and loved it. It took a couple years to get established and blooming consistantly but I loved the color, form, fragrance and mossing. This is my first winter here but it is the first rose I bought. I hope the deer leave it alone enought to see it bloom.

Robert, if you'd ever like to have the true Secret Garden Noisette, Vintage offers it, and it is the real deal. They describe the double blooms and mention the differences between the two.

Couldnt stand myself, had to make a 3rd order from Sequoia today. I got:
Cl. Little Girl - a dear lady who had a mom/pop nursery where our huge new post office now stands grew this - it was the first climbing miniature I had seen
