How to Keep Pump from Running Dry when Power Shuts Off

I am configuring my pump in the new pond that I am building. I have a large pond and I am using a large pump for a pool. I will have an intake that removes water from the pond and to the pump which will then go to a raised bog which will fill up and filter the water and then cascade down back into the pond. Because I am using a pump that will not be submersible and will not be bellow the level of the intake it is important that the pump not run dry if the power cuts off. I am looking for some type of valve that will not allow the water to flow back out of the pump or to continue to be siphoned towards the bog if the power unexpectadly cuts off. Or I am looking for some type of switch that will cut off when the power goes out and has to be manually reset when it comes back on to start the pump back up so that it can be primed before being run. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
