I always love to hear what others are ordering! I also purchased Soupert et Notting (by suggesstion of another poster) & Juno from Pickering, but received mine back in November. Those red thorns on R. Primula are stunning!!! Someone else was recently talking about that rose and R. Moyesii, I ended up with R. Moyesii (the hips are very unique). You'll have to post pictures once they bloom this spring!

Teresa, If you up to common varieties, check out local Costco store in March. Excellent selection of Lilacs and very healthy seedlings if you buy them early. You will get larger plants for your money if you buy locally. For less common cultivars try Forest Farm. Their plants are very nice and they have 47 varieties of Syringa (Lilac) now. I've bought the only reblooming Lilac 'Josee' and the russian hybrid named like my daughter (very hard to find) there. Small, but absolutely healthy plants. I bought tubes; Gallon size plants are quite big. Shipping is expensive though. They also have huge selection of other blooming shrubs. You might want to interplant Lilacs with bushes which bloom at different time.

GGG, Feel free to either email me on the website or call the office, I will be happy to go over your experience and do my best to correct any issues you may have, I am not sure what you initially ordered and why the shipping was an issue, but some items that we carry will be shipped later than others, usually muscadines, blueberries, and blackberries are shipped relatively early and fruit trees and other are usually late Dec/early to mid Jan, depending on how cold the fall was and how quickly stock goes dormant, we do not strip leaves off or do anything to stock prematurely to make it go dormant in order to ship sooner, we find we are putting unwanted stress on the trees. As far as commenting on GWD, I feel it is better to either call or email the customer personally and handle it in house, if the customer chooses to change his or her rating after a negative comment that is that customers choice, but in the past some customers have changed their rating based on our effort to please the customer as best we can. Any customer that has felt slighted or mistreated can call me anytime, and I will make every effort to correct the situation. Thx Greg Ison

I'd like to find such a retail nursery, if such exists, as I more likely can find plants in the 3-5 gallon pot range, and mailorder nursery stock is often (but by no means always) smaller than that (though often bare root). And some things I have not readily found by mail order. I'd also like some plants not too easy to find by mailorder: for instance, Welder, Golden Isles, and Nevermiss muscadines; Waite and Potomac pears (just found a mail order source for the latter); and possibly a lot of things I don't even know about. Such nurseries seem to exist elsewhere in the nation, and still exist for citrus in Florida, and muscadines and blueberries in Georgia and North Carolina. But except for a nursery for fruits for the cooler elevations in the SEUS mountains I know of no other nurseries specializing in fruits in Georgia and the Carolinas. Another limited exception is the non-muscadine fruits carried by Isons. Such a nursery used to exist in the lower more typical part of the SEUS (Hastings in Atlanta) but to my knowledge no more.
