My house is on a local garden tour. I am often questioned about this tree/plant. I do not know the name.

1. Please look at the following pictures

2. Description: 15 -25 feet tall- droops with weight-slender woody trunk with bark that is somewhat similar to cherry- many little branches like "suckers"- loses greenery each winter- comes back in early April- purple/pink flowers all summer- flowers look like peppermint flowers- greenery is fern-like- almost like asparagus fern- very bumpy texture to greenery- almost like pine needles- tons of bees and yellow jackets on the flowers- greenery smells grassy when crushed- no scent to flowers

3. ZONE 6: I live in western MA, downtown Springfield- this is an urban garden. I never water the tree and only prune it to be able to move around it. It gets plenty of early afternoon sunshine and morning shade
