Actually I have no problem getting Rose Creek, it's Canyon Creek that no one is has. Let me restate my original post: I found some Rose Creeks sized from 12" to 24" from $10.95 to $24.95. I can deal with that. If it's not a imposition, I could use a good online nursery for the Canyon Rose. Can anyone help, or did I not state that concisely enough? Thanks folks.

As to my Rose Creek Abelia. It is planted facing west and gets full afternoon sun. You know what our temperatures were like - in the 100's for a week or so and it seemed fine to me. It is planted in heavy clay soil and receives lots of runoff water from my soaker hoses. This may turn out to be a bad thing if Abelias are sensitive to wet soil, but again its trial and error. I can understand the confusion about part shade/sun. But after research I think that this variety of Abelia is supposed to take full sun. Again, so far so good at my hacienda. Here is a picture of it taken this July. Note all the flowers on it already. It has splayed open a bit, but I think that was because of the way it was crammed into the greenhouse. New growth is growing in the center. The more mature ones I saw at the Linnaeus gardens (Tulsa Woodward Park)this spring were taller (but still short), and fuller. Lovely really.

LOL (laughing about the cat sleeping on the shrub). Yeah, the KA shoots don't really arch gracefully. They stick straight up out of the casually rounded shrubs. Very weird. I guess I will cut them off. You are SO right about the heat/drought tolerance. I was annoyed when I got them in the ground and (literally) 2 days later, here come 100+ degree temps...in May. I was out there twice a day with pitchers of water just begging the poor things to do well. After a week or two of wilting every day at noon, they caught up and now they are just doing great. In fact, I'm surprised at how delicate they LOOK, but how tough they are turning out to be! They are in a big bed in front of my house, approaching (in a curve) an Autumn Blaze maple, from both sides. (Eventually, they will not be as colorful, in a few years when the maple starts providing more shade, but I actually like the yellow-green color just as well as I like the orangey-red color.) And, they are in front of a curve of Carissa hollies. They stand out beautifully.
