Abelia x Grandliflora 'Rose Creek'

Mary1, in your last response in my bagworm post , did you mean that you are finding it successful growing the 'Rose creek' abelia in a western exposure where your 'Rose creek' abelia shrubs are doing fine in OK's zone 7 hot, dry afternoon sun exposure?
I only ask this because the Sooner Plant Farm lists that this shrub needs afternoon shade. If you have found afternoon shade not to be needed in OK's zone 7 for your 'Rose Creek' shubs that certainly would be very good news to read.
