I spilled a spiking orchid ... repot or leave it?

I recently purchased a an Ascocentrum ampullaceum. It's a blooming size plant in a 3" pot. The leaves are maybe 5" long. As I pulled the curtains back in the morning, I knocked it off the shelf (about a 4 foot drop).

The plant is intact. I scooped up as much of the bark as I could and got it back in the pot. I noticed some dead roots mixed in with the healthy ones, and the bark seemed a little bit broken down, but I was in a huge hurry, so I had to just get it back in the pot and leave it for later. THEN I noticed the spikes. There are three brand-new spikes coming out!

So I'm looking for opinions from experienced growers: should I take it out of the bark again and clean up the rotten roots, or should I just stop disturbing it so much and let it flower? My opinion on the bark/course perlite mix is that it isn't bad, it was just damp from my watering it the day before.
