Tell me about Wild Blue Yonder

A couple of years agor I saw this rose at a Botanical Garden (USDA Zone 8a) and have been considering buying it ever since. Simply put, I was floored by the overall beauty of the plant: nice, medium sized shrub lushly clothed in foliage with lots of purple, intensely fragrant, ruffled flowers. She looked like the quintessential cottage rose, and reminded me of an improved Angel Face. I do have a few burning questions.

How disease resistant is the foliage? Can the plant keep itself clean with infrequent (approx once very 2-3 weeks) spraying? Can she be grown organically? Does she grow well on her own roots? How big will she get? Do the flowers last well in a vase?

All opinions are welcome but those from rosarians who endure hot/humid summers is especially welcome.

Thanks,

Patrick
