Tissue rolls for seeds.

Perhpas this has been done before but thought I would share. Last spring I had a flower bed devoted strictly to seeds (direct sow). I wanted to be able to see the seeds as they germinated and to keep them in a certian area so I saved my toilet tissue rolls, cut them in half and stuck them in the ground, put the seeds in the soil inside the circle. This way I knew what germinated and when. The cardboard breaks down and there is no need to transplant tender seedlings. I also kept track of how many seeds went in each hole so I knew how many plants to expect. This also keeps the seeds from washing into areas where you don't want them.
