new house with mystery plants

We have another mystery plant (mysterious to us) in our new, Northwest, backyard. It's climbing a trellis in front of the deck and probably gets more shade than sun. Please help us identify it:

Climbing Hydrangea (Hydrangea anomala) perhaps?

I was going to say the leaves were too different when I looked at the first, large photo, but when I caught the "wintermoor" I realized that those leaves as well as the stalk looked very similar. Thank you! I didn't know there was such a thing as a "climbing" hydrangea. I'll read up on it.

we really can't ID anything without pictures. Figs do come in all shapes and sizes, it's quite possible it is a fig. Look up ficus instead, you might have more luck. As for the bugs soak the whole pot in a bucket of water, the bugs should surface, then you can scoop them out. Make sure it drains really well before putting it back.

Thanks for the link! I checked it out and they have about 12 varieties of begonias listed. 11 of them are non-toxic, but one is toxic. They don't have Eyelash Begonia listed unfortunately. I'll send them an email though and see what they say. Thanks again!

No way, Peat!! :) My SeÃ±or Guac is labeled, dated, and in the shade, waiting for my terrace to be done. Alas, the crew walked off the job, nothing to do with me but a labor dispute with their boss. The boss is trying hard to replace them but so far, it's been four weeks with no luck. He & I are going to talk Friday, and if still no joy, I'll have to find another landscaper who's willing to bid on the little bit of work that's left. It's one afternoon for two strong men people, but it's waaay beyond own my physical abilities right now. Anyway, my dear Guac is still being pampered, awaiting his new home. The Mystery #7 plant is solid color, unlike Mr. G.

Probably using the HTML tag line from photobucket - basically providing an html reference tag to a picture that is stored on another website.

That's exactly what I did. Just copy each HTML tag and paste it into your post. When you hit the "preview" button, you'll see the photo rather than the code.
