Bulbophyllum moniliforme

I finally got one! But I have some questions and I know all the experts out there have the wisdom to guide me. This plant arrived on a tree fern slab that seems to be decomposing, it feels "mushy"(some of the tiny bulbs had fell off during transit) the tiny masses of bulbs are held on by large staples. Do I attempt to move it on to a new slab? This seems like a daunting task there are hundreds of them. Tried to get a pic embedded but alas I cannot find my camera cord:o) For those of you who are growing this little gem I wonder if I am doing it right. I currently have it in a southern facing window(filtered by blinds)humidity is good, temp.'s stay around 82-85f in the daytime with a night temp. of 65-68f. I am watering only when the slab is slightly dry(it seems to pull away from the slab if allowed to become too dry)I am fertilizer paranoid as I've sent a few orchids to orchid heaven by doing it wrong. What should be used and how often? Thank you!
