Source for old fashioned Marigold seed?

Our local festival, "Marigold Days" is always held the weekend after Labor Day. Being a bit late in our season, the Marigolds are inevitably not at their peak. We usually purchase and put in plants from a local nursery which helps us so many other ways...usually mid May. I know one option is to start seed and plant later in the season but you know what happens to 'plans' once the 'season is upon us'!

Even if that works, I'd like to find a source for the older types of Marigolds I recall from 50 years ago (I think - LOL). I can sometimes find single African Marigolds but wold like to find some taller single ones also. Any information on sources will be most appreciated. If forum rules preclude posting sources could you please email me individually. Thanks for any help you can give me.
