Yes, Lisa has nice plants. They aren't as large as some places like ARE but they aren't super small like Heirloom's. I ordered Clementina Carboneri and Duchesse de Brabant and these roses are doing well for me.

I ordered 8 tea roses last fall. They were small but grew quickly, ever before I planted them in the ground. They have all more than tripled in size and are very healthy and sprouting pink buds along the canes, just waiting for a warm spell. I am very pleased to support the recovery from Katrina by purchasing from them. I find the website to be quite informative also. I hope to visit in June on our way to Perdido Key for vacation. Buff

The largest own root rose that I have ever received from an online vendor came from Lisa at Countryside Roses. It was a CLIMBING CLOTILDE SOUPERT, and the rose was so big that when I opened the box a big cane came swinging out. Absolutely amazing. Lisa is also super nice. I've ordered roses from the following nurseries: Countryside Roses, David Austin Roses Limited, Heirloom Roses, The Antique Roses Emporium, Uncommon Rose (now out of business) and Vintage Gardens. While all of them have provided good customer service in the past, Lisa at Countryside leads the pack. She has a personal touch that the others just can't duplicate.

On a side note, Countryside is located in Pass Christian MS where the eye of Hurricane Katrina passed in 2005. Her entire nursery was completely wiped out by the storm and she has been bravely building it back ever since. So by ordering roses from her, you are not only going to get quality plants but you will be helping with the ongoing hurricane recovery.

Add me to the list of VERY satisfied Countryside customers. I ordered 12 roses from her in December, and they are fabulous -- they come in 1-quart pots, not the square bands we're used to buying. Once I get caught up on my planting this spring (or if the mood hits me before then) I plan to order from her again.

Go for it! Lisa and her Countryside Roses are an absolute pleasure to deal with. I ordered from her right after Katrina and got some gorgeous (and tough) plants from her. They are thriving here in my yard. Now that I think about it.....I need to visit her site.

Well I went ahead an placed my order with her for Blush Noisette, Duchesse de Brabant, and MAC. They were sold out of the others I want so I guess I'll order those from ARE. At least now I know of her and can see how they do. Which from what ya'll say I souldn't have any problems. :O)

I guess I will see what she has for Mother's Day!!

Roses Unlimited would be a good source for you-- they're in SC too and ship very nice-sized plants that really take off. They have lots of teas and noisettes. You're going to love the ones you ordered, I'll bet!

Hi Meghan, I have many roses from Lisa and though they are smaller when you receive them, they are healthy and take off growing. I love Lisa and her roses!

You might check Ashdown and Roses Unlimited for the roses you couldn't find at Countryside. Both are in South Carolina, shipping would be reasonable and they send nice plants!

I have a question: Does Countryside definitely not delay shipping date? I see that most posters are from warmer zones.

I saw on her website that it says to "order when it's appropriate for your area"...but that's not until mid to late April here and I'm afraid the roses I want will be sold out by then.

I've emailed several days ago, but haven't heard back. I'd love to support her efforts in rebuilding her business, but I can't keep roses indoors for 2 months:)

Eric, you can order your roses now and specify the date you want them shipped. I have already ordered and my roses won't be shipped until April. Try emailing again, it's not like Lisa to not respond promptly. Maybe your email went awry.

I bought Fields of the Woods from her, and it did very well last summer. She used to have a business partner named Jackie Day who sold many roses to me which have all been excellent plants. Lisa does seem very nice.

Lisa's great! Very helpful and went to a lot of trouble to create a trellis pic for me to help me decide where to plant which rose. All that for just another faceless, internet customer! Very nice and healthy roses too. Brandy

I have only ordered once from Lisa, but the experience was so wonderful, that I must count her among my FRIENDS now, not just a vendor. I will of course be ordering from her again, but have to get my other roses into the ground this spring first! (still have a few Vintage bands from fall that over wintered in pots, you see...)

Countryside's roses are extreme!!! So healthy, so happy, they are perfect for my garden here in east Texas!

My Countryside order: a Climbing Clotilde Soupert (thanks Patrick) and MAC to replace two Climbing Cecile Brunners on an arbor. The Ceciles are getting moved to a high fence where they can do battle with the honeysuckle...I won't mind their nekkid legs there so much either. :)

Well I am happy to announce my roses arrived today from Countryside and so far they look great! Very healthy looking, small, but healthy. I'm just hoping they really take off this summer! I just got home and saw the box on the steps. Didn't even wait to get in the house just stopped right their put down my stuff and opened the box! I recieved Blush Noisette, Duchesse de Brabant, and Mac. I ordered 4 others from Ashdown (Hermosa, Mrs Dudley Cross, Marie Pavie, Sombreuil) and they are to arrive at the end of the month. I'm getting so excited that spring as finally arrived here. Their is already a bud on Lamarque!
