I do not have as much as Peggy, (thank you for making me seem moderate!). Thought I was a freak when I planted just over 100 things two years ago. That was, until last year, when I planted over 500....and that wasn't all the seed kinds I had. Sheesh, if I counted now, I would have to confront the fact that I could not possibly plant everything. And that would mean I shouldn't trade. I ain't riskin' it. (I've done much better at un-chaffing seeds right away, and getting them sorted, labeled, bagged and filed though. That's a big improvement!) --Tina

Hi riceke, thanks for the response. I have never grown tomatoes from seed (on purpose anyway). I was lurking in the greenhouse forum since my greenhouse is getting close to being put into use and saw this wonderful thread complete with photos on someone's success in growing Better Boys from seed and then training them as vines along a suspended cattle panel in their greenhouse which looks very similar to mine in approximate size, shape, etc...It looked like a real space-saving technique. I have always done well with Better Boys in the garden and just wanted to get some additional takes on growing them from seed, preferably from folks in my neck of the woods. I have also been conversing with that thread's original poster too and have alot of info to work with. I didn't even know hobby gardeners could grow named market hybrids from seed until I saw her post. Now I'm a little more knowledgeable about F1 and F2 seed generations. Still would love to hear about anyone else's experiences growing Better Boys from F1 (first generation) seed. Specifically tips on germination rates, success and care of young seedlings. I've grown melons, cukes and some flowers from seed so I'm not a total seed growing noob but I am when it comes to starting toms from seed. Danielle

Hi, Steve/digit, Thanks for your response! I had to double check, but I read your responses/complaints about Evergreen. I decided to do a search about them over the weekend when I didn't get the email confirmation. Your past experience with them (from several years ago) was similar to the experience I had with them (many years ago). I received email confirmation of my order. Fast forward to present day... I didn't think twice about placing my order with them this season... until no email confirmation ever showed up in my email box. Then I started to worry and wonder. Having said that, I received my afternoon mail and found a yellow envelope from Evergreen! I was surprised to find it in my mailbox, but I do live in Los Angeles. I'm with you and wonder if they're just a little overwhelmed with business? I even asked for an email when they shipped but didn't get that, either. I really don't know if I'll order from them again especially if I can find the seeds elsewhere. I like communication/notification. Thank you all for your responses. Happy Growing, everyone! It's China's version of Amazon. At least Amazon makes an effort to guard your info, I can't say the same for Alibaba. If you have problems with your items expect no customer service. And, like Amazon, they have a major counterfeiting problem. Finally, if you scroll down the page you will notice a link for "Get paid for your feedback". reviews counterfeiting
