I'm glad I tried the Groundcover Forum to see if Lamium was addressed. 2 Purple Dragon have been withering since I planted them in May. I cut off the withering & slightly slimy stems since I didn't know what else to do with them. They get new growth that looks nice and shiny for a week or two and then revert to that withering. A Silver Beacon has spread like wildfire that I planted in June. I just noticed yesterday a couple stems were doing the withering routine. They don't get dry but seem overly moist. I'll go with your experience, tangerine, and keep cutting them back when they get that wet, withered look. Seems like leaves don't like touching ground very much as they brown up wherever they're not held up on stem. Guess that's part of their nature too. The Silver Beacon is racing past its intended space. Was thinking of cutting it back and rooting it to spread around more plants but just occurred to me that might be its natural habit and won't take moisture/nutrients from plants it rambles around. Does it encumber other plants if it wends its way around them when Lamium not cut back or is it a friendly wanderer around upright plants? Silver Beacon has a few stems which have self-rooted themselves in soil. Didn't know they did that! So much to learn with so many different plants.

It needs more dry time between when you water it. My suggestion: shake out quite a bit of the filling in there, it is too wet and will kill roots. Put more holes along the sides of the container if you can, to help air flowing through the pot, so it can dry out faster. During humid times, you will not need to water as much. Water maybe once a week but only if it is drying inside. Shower it at the sink, or soak in a bowl of water for a few minutes. Your temperature and humidity is nice for phals. But they should never stay for days in a very wet pot. Let the pot to dry out inside before you water again. It can come back. These leaves will probably not look shiny again, but the new leaves will be perfect. Good luck! My area is very low humidity, so I have not put extra holes in this container (just at the bottom). These are very healthy roots. You can see it is dry at the top, but still a little be wet inside. I will not water this plant for maybe three more days.

The bushy one with the pink flowers does not look like an orchid. You need to plant each one separately as the orchid needs to be in an orchid media, not dirt, if you want it to thrive. I like the Ortho Orchid book as a beginner's reference; lots of info and easy to read. These combo plantings are showing up more and more.

Looks like either too much light (sunburn) or too much fertilizer
