I would cut the rhizomes into 5-inch sections or larger, which should certainly ensure that there is at least one eye on each one. More important than visible eyes is the total mass in a section of rhizome. The bigger it is, the more stored energy there is, so larger pieces get off to a more vigorous start than smaller ones. As a precaution against rot, I dust the cuts with sulphur, which is inexpensive and readily available at nurseries and other places where gardening supplies are sold.

I'd say your Wide Brim is NOT. The leaves look a little too narrow to me, but more importantly, if you take a look at the pictures of WB on HL you will see most, if not all, show a degree of corrugation to the leaves, there's none evident on yours. Seems to yours also is a little too shiny in its leaves, but that could well be because of the rain. If your "Francee" is putting up scapes already, I'm inclined to see it too was incorrectly labelled. Francee should be blooming much later. Best guess is that what you have in fact is 'Undulata Albomarginata' as I have a few of those starting to put up flower scapes as well already. Take a closer look at your F and see if the backs are dull or shiny. For F they should be rather dull and look different in color from the top of the leaf. BTW, it is very common for Hosta to be mislabeled at places like HD and Lowes. It's also very common for a lot of their stock to be virus infected, although none of your pictures show any of that.

I have owed a hot tub for 25+ year and have tried most sanitation methods. Here is what I have found is most effective. A. For sanitizer use Bromine tablets in a floater. B. Use Mule Team 20 to raise ALK and Baking soda to raise PH. Until you get a feel for them do very small amounts. That is all that you really need to monitor. Buy a test strip kit that tests all three. C. Get a second filter. Swap them every week, spray out the removed one well and leave it outside until the next swap. The sun and elements kill nasties. D. Drain, clean and refill every three months minimum. Hard to say if you should do more frequently, it is based on how much you use it. But unless it is a huge tub, they do not take that much water and a drain and refill is always better that trying to fix bad water.

It is not right, IMO. I don't know if it can be fixed easily, but that's not your problem. When we had our bathroom redone without the benefit of GW a few years ago, we had an expensive solid surface put around the tub/shower area. After it was all done, I noticed that the faucet and spout and shower head did not line up. Well, I thought, not great, but what can they do now? The holes are cut, slab is ruined, and it will take forever to get another one made. It's all done. When I was getting kitchen quotes, I mentioned it as an example of a bad contractor, and one of the guys I talked to told me that the beauty of solid surface is that you can effectively "cut and paste" it and it could have been fixed. So I learned (the hard way) that you shouldn't assume that the fix can't be done or is too difficult, it's not your problem. They have to make it right. I get mad very time I take a shower. Don't get mad every time you use your sink. Complain. 3/4", even 1/2" is not correct for a negative reveal. Oh and they did drill and grind my granite in my kitchen a little bit while they were installing it, and they were very careful to clean up. It can be done. Isn't there a stone installer from Arizona on here? He should know if they could fix it in place. Good luck!
