Vanda: Fertilize water w/...root hormone? bloom booster? or...

Hi All,

We had night temps in to the high 40's last week (momentary cold snap), so, when I saw the weather report, I went running out in my pajama's to bring my Vanda in from outside. Time to winter inside!

I have been watering more and it does seem happier, although I think chronic dryness will take some time to recover from.

Vanda will hang in a south facing glassblock window this winter over my garden tub (I really AM making it a "garden tub"!)

I want to either soak roots in a little fertilizer as suggested in some other posts, but I have read all different info about exactly WHAT to use.

Rooting hormone? Regular orchid fertilizer? Bloom booster?

What ratio should the fertilizer be to water the Vanda is being soaked in?

If I do choose to use a little spag, what ratio of fertilizer to water should I soak the spag in first?

I just don't want to burn this baby, nor waste time not giving it enough of what it needs. I know this is the time to cut back on fertilizing, but it needs SOMETHING.

Any and all advice is always appreciated :o) I would really love very specific details. Thanks!
