Welcome back! Glad your camera is no longer MIA and look forward to your pics. Here in zone 5 the pond is up and running for about a month and home to toadpoles as well. Isn't it funny how ponders call our toad tadpoles "toadpoles". Something most of us do. Did you add a caption to the caption contest? If not please do.:) Lisa

Really?? I planted what I thought was Butterfly Pea Vine (that's what I was told, anyway) and when it sprouted all the leaves were shaped just like butterflies... Well, it will be interesting to see what I get if it ever blooms! They've already climbed almost to the top of the trellis, so I'm hoping they'll turn their attention to flowers now instead of height! Thanks for the input!

Well that certainly is good news. I knew they ate bugs and are beneficial to most flowerbeds but I was extremely worried about them and my daylilies. I would just die if I went out there to discover they were eatting the roots of my precious daylily babies. (grin) I just got those little jewels and I guess you could say I'm a little over protective. Thank you all for responding and making me feel more at ease. Happy Gardening Marian

Broken Lady, We used to have peacocks about a mile up the road from us...but they didn't make it through their first summer. I am assuming the coyotes or panthers or cougars got them. I did love seeing them roam the neighborhood, but they are so obnoxiously loud! Leaper, When we lived in a civilized neighborhood in Fort Worth, where everyone had lovely yards and no ponds (this was in the early 1980s) I actually built a small pond and then mail-ordered some of those bullfrog tadpoles from a pond company. When I opened the package, the tadpoles were so large I thought they'd sent me fish by mistake! Of course they grew into lovely bullfrogs with lovely voices and we enjoyed their singing so much. And, I don't think the frogs bothered anyone because everyone stayed inside with the air conditioners running all the time and probably never even heard the frogs! lol I love the frogs, but they have been quieter than usual this spring undoubtedly because we have been so dry. So, if a little more rain will fall, maybe we'll have a little more frog and toad singing around here! As loud as they are, I miss them when they are abnormally quiet! I know they are here, because I hear them and see them every now and then, but not as much as usual. Dawn
