Name That Plant!

What is this green plant with large leaves?

I have this plant growing in one of my pots. I have assumed that it is a weed as I haven't planted anything aside from pansies in this pot but it has taken over and I was about to empty the pot out - and then I thought I better check that it IS a weed and not something nice. It grew very quickly in a shaded area, I haven't looked after it in any way so it seems quite robust (another reason I think it's a weed). There isn't much else to tell about it - it's been in a shaded area of the garden in a UK climate. Can anybody tell me what it is from the photo? Thanks.

Perhaps an Aesculus tree, a Buckeye.

Yep, organic p. I think you have a slightly moth eaten conker tree! Most likely horse chestnut rather than buckeye in the UK. Dig down a bit - you'll find a conker on the end.

I would be very interested, but I don't know if I have anything you would be interested in. Please see my post below which describes things I have available for the Issaquah trade (and any other trade!). I also have some TBI that are purple, several Euonymous 'Emerald Gaiety' plants, and a large heather that is kind of a lime green and I think blooms pink or purple..but not sure as I just dug it out of my friends yard. I believe we may have met at a previous trade..I recognize several things on your have list that are now growing in my garden! :-) I love the little pink panda strawberries and I even ate bunches of them earlier in the summer. If the growths look otherwise like those of the rest of the tree, with the same coral red stem color do not worry about it. It is normal. Japanese maples have a main flush of growth in spring, and then after an interval other shoots tend to appear in summer.
