Teasing Georgia
Comments (4)It is so much fun when Forum friends come up to visit. For some reason, Mary's Teasing Georgia was the Austin that gave me confidence I could grow them, and now many of them do well for me. It is a beautiful rose, and people walk over to the end of the high school building just to look at it. I started taking care of our roses in March of 2004, and started gardening (redesigning and reconfiguring areas etc) that November. It's amazing to see how the plants mature and what happens. This spring flush is something unbelievable...and each year seems to get better and better. Each year I try to have a theme. This year, it's "Feed the Roses". I am trying to do something nice for them once every month....See MoreNeed to site Teasing Georgia, Tea Clipper and others
Comments (5)Thank you everyone for the kind words on our setting, yeah we've got green covered! Especially with all the rain we've had lately. And another 3 inches expected this weekend! But while we were above average in rainfall for the month of April, we are still below average for the year to date. Sure doesn't seem like it though. I remember when we were moving here 5 years ago and I flew in from Canada and landed in Nashville. I remember looking down while we were landing in awe at the lush green fields. My first impression was that the grass was so green it hurt my eyes! I'm really rethinking Tea Clipper and Teasing Georgia for this area. I don't want monsters here. Ebb Tide, Julia Child and Wild Blue Yonder seem OK. I still like to have perennials around my roses so restraint is good for the roses, especially in this bed. Hmmm, I need to think a bit on this....See MoreRequiem for Teasing Georgia (Rose Rosette)
Comments (6)You have my sympathies, rosewylde. I'm in the process of getting rid of my Golden Showers that I've had for a couple decades--yes, RRD. Cut it to the ground yesterday, will dig up the roots tonight--all this in over 100 degree heat, I might add. Very discouraging. I know how you feel. I'm glad you asked about replanting. I thought it was all right, but feel better having confirmation on that. Your design of Teasing Georgia and waterfall sounds so intriguing. I hope you try it again--and give us pictures also. I'd love to see that. Kate...See MoreTeasing Georgia Rose- preforming great in the heat
