Wow, Eric, that's a nice big rose, I've always drooled over its beautiful yellow blooms. Post lots of pictures cuz I can't grow it here!

Teasing Georgia has become one of my favorite roses among my 100+. I have given her minimal care and she still does well. I have had her for about 4 years now and she has grown on me more and more. Right now, in this 100 degree weather we are having with minimal rain, a cluster of 5 blooms has been opened in as many days. She opens a pale orange/apricot/yellow and the color does not fade which is a big peeve of mine with so many yellows. She is a winner; I hope you will enjoy her for many years. She send out long arching canes and with no spray, I have yet to see her defoliate with blackspot.

Eric, my MIL bought me Teasing Georgia 2 years ago from the "death rack" at Lowe's. She looked pitiful, and I was convinced she was going to be a goner. Boy was I wrong. She is most definitely one of the most vigorous and most gorgeous roses that I have. She's reaching for the sky, my guess is about 12' or so. And I pruned pretty hard after the first flush in June, which only seemed to have encouraged her to grow even bigger, lol.

I always thought this was a southern rose but it seems to do well here in the north.

Wendy, first of all, I laughed because "death rack" is the same term I use for the racks of 50% off clearance plants that have been ignored by the staff. Every time I go to Lowes, I cruise the death racks, death row for plants, left to bake in the sun. I've picked up many a perennial for 2 bucks or less. It's amazing what some water and good soil will do :) I love your pictures, those blooms look huge. I did a quick count and my TG has at a least a half a dozen buds...she likes her new home! I'll have to snap some pictures.

Great looking rose. I bought one from Lowes earlier in the year, it wasn't on sale but I never see them here so I brought it home. You will like it, mine has done well this summer.

Probably stupid questions but what exactly does new generation mean? and how do you know it's own root, I didn't see it on the tag and assumed the large base was a graft. I checked mine and it has the same tag.

Not a stupid question :) New Generation is J&P's term for own root. If you don't see that it's New Generation, assume it's grafted. Mine is definitely happier in her new home:

My TG is still putting out blooms despite being in my pot ghetto for over 3 years, we are in a drought, and the good Dr. Huey is sending up huge canes. It is in full sun and hardly fades (just a slight lightening)which is unusual for the yellows. Darlow's Enigma always use to be my "desert island" rose but I think Miss Georgia is becoming my first choice these days. Sets large hips too. Will try to collect some and see what happens. One of my favorite Austins.

Hey Florence, sorry it's not Zeffie, although mine is trying to eat my back yard...we're talking 10 to 12 ft canes in it's 3rd year...definitely leaping! I'll have to start a separate thread on that.

Hi Jim, my TG is still sucking up the water. It's growing so vigorously, yet hasn't grown enough feeder roots to keep up. I have to water it every other day or the new growth wilts. I love the bloom form and it treats me to a new show every morning.

You know I know they say TG is bs resistant but I have both of mine no spray and they both get a bit of bs. Not that it stops the blooms or growth at all, those boogers have cane growth of 8+' in drought years, insane. Consistant blooms too. I just ignore the bit of bs and it goes away when the temps crank up. It's Texas, eventually the heat kills everything fungal out here.
