Most of the time I am an organic gardner but not over iris borers. When I spot them I dig up the clump and cut out all rotted areas and trim the leaves to healthy parts and fungicide them. It postpones bloom for a year with some irises but not others. I do not dig up all the clumps not showing a problem however for most seem healthy and usually I do not get the borers back again for many years. What is bothering me this year is slugs and snails all over the iris. Never had that problem before and that might be from rain, rain, rain so I stomp, stomp, stomp the offenders.

Hello folks, sorry for the delay in my response, it's a busy time of year for this industry because many adult childern come home to visit and find their parents are begining to fail and need some help. Asolo & Imabest, I will have to look up the name of the bill for the tax credit that went to Congress this year, and I will let you know ASAP. Diane, no you don't have to pay it back, the grant is small usually around $250.00 every 3 months,but that is money that could be used for respite care or RX co pays, etc. I will find my info on that and post it here.Michgirl, I assume you are in Michigan? Hi Kimmie, I hope you don't take offense when not many people answer your posts. It isn't a very busy place. I guess we're all freaking out in the corner somewhere, with our migraines, bleeding, backaches, toothaches, irritable moods.......hahaha....or with our thinking problems, we sometimes forget how to get back here! ;) How did your doctor visit go? I know when my uterus is full, my back, lower abdomen and legs hurt. Sometimes, in perimenopause, our uteruses get too thick, but don't shed, and that can lead to lots of spotting, heavy bleeding, and a heavy lower abdomen. I always would get sciatica in my leg, when my uterus was full! Perimenopause can be quite a challenge for some of us. I'm 56 and haven't had a period for about 2 years. YAY! My life has settled down tremendously, now that those hormones aren't fluctuating all over the place. But.....my ovaries are still tormenting me. I even spent Christmas day in the ER! ......had really bad ovary pain. Anyhow.....don't be shy to come here and talk. Just give everyone a while to find your posts.
