Looks like a nice way to get some equipment on the cheap, just keep in mind what it was likely being used for before seizure. Odds are the police didn't confiscate it because he was cheating on his taxes AND growing hydroponic tomatoes... I'd advise a paranoid-OCD type of cleaning, inside and out. Make sure there aren't any illicit residues that might be found later and blamed on you.

Hi neilt81, Your idea is interesting. I have been thinking about something similar. I collect and deal in Insurance Ephemera, especially insurance policies etc. For a long time I have been dealing through e-bay, but what I was missing is my own space where I could put items on display, not necessarily for immediate sale. This implies having and supporting another website of my own - not so great as I have no idea in website building. Another issue is the difficulty to access some of the dealers in antiquities. I frequently go to antique fairs, but, as youy can guess, I can cover only those close to my home. Therefore, I miss potential finds elsewhere, and that is because most of the dealers have no sites. And when they do have, it is difficult to find them. ANd when I find them - then there is a question of honesty, trust, payment, postage and all that. I am sure many collectors can say it is frustrating. What you are suggesting is good. Maybe you can gather some ideas from the site I have been using: www.mythings.com I list there my collection but also items for sale. There is no option of selling through this site, but there is a very valuable (to me) option taht they have announced to be coming soon - the portfolio that I have there, will be directly connected to e-bay. That means that you can have a stock of your items on Mythings and you can send them automatically to ebay for sale. Before I started using them I actually talked to their developing team (they are in London), nice lads. Irfanview doesn't work for this. You can change size, colors, brightness, etc., but you need a URL for the picture to have it to show. In other words, the picture has to be posted on the web. Many internet service providers offer free web space where you can upload your pictures. Check to see if yours does. Otherwise you can, as mentioned above, use a site like Photobucket. Once you have your picture uploaded, you right click on it, scroll down, and click on Properties. This will show the URL. Then, right click again, scroll down, and click on Select All. This will highlight the URL (web address of the picture) Then right click again, scroll down and click Copy. Then Paste this into your auction posting.

I am actively looking for investment property, but I haven't seen a property I would consider on the REDC website. I might go to an auction for fun and to learn about them, maybe a good one will come up in the future.
