looks like a mild case of sunburn perhaps, but could be some sort of infection if it has not been in strong sunlight.

Have you checked the condition of the roots?
If roots are in good condition, it may be able to pull out of it, though it wont be as attractive.

What does the underside look like? FYI--To avoid fungus I spray my orchids with a fungus spray once a month and I've not had any problems with fungus even with the rain and humidity in FL for 2 years. However, this does look like sunburn but can't really tell. Is it setting close to a window? If so pull it back, turn it around and hopefully it will be ok. I get sunburn on mine and eventually the leaf falls off but it doesn't hurt the rest of the plant.

The undersides are pretty much all perfect, a very light green color. It was right next to a window so I'll pull it back. I actually just started spraying them with physol three months back and I've been doing it every month since then. Would it have been able to kill all the fungus in that time?

Have you given it too much of fertilizer, insect poison, additives anything other than water? I'm not familiar with physol, it reads like it is benign. It could be a sun issue.

That second picture with what looks like a shadow line but is actually where a shadow was and prevented the rest of the leaf from burning. Any leaf burn is permanent and cosmetic only. It will not spread. If it was too severe it would turn black and you could trim off that portion. I believe that part of the leaf is still doing some work to help the plant grow so leave it alone.

As far as what kind of orchid is it - I have an idea but I'd like to see some better pictures of the p[seudobulbs. Has it flowered and if so do you have pictures?

Looks like sunburn to me, especially with that telltale shadow on the leaf. You are right to pull it away from the glass. You could also put bubble wrap over the glass, which is what I do when the sun swings low to the south and gets too intense at this time of year. That way the plants get light and heat, but no burning rays. J

As for the kind of orchid, it's hard to say until it blooms. it looks like it's probably in that big mess of intergeneric odontoglossum/oncidium/miltonopsis/etc etc etc. group. Do you have pictures of the flowers? J
