Souv. d'un Ami and Souv. de Mme Leonie Viennot

Well, I couldn't stop at just one picture...
I have to say that pictures of Souvenir d'un Ami on HMF never impressed me at all. So whenever I went to the San Jose Heritage Garden, I didn't even look at the rose. I was always busy looking somewhere else. Was I in for a huge surprise when I saw two bushes of it in full bloom yesterday. They were really really hard to ignore. They were perfect - huge very double beautiful blooms, no balling, no disease. If only it had a little more fragrance... Ingrid, does yours look like this??

I am sorry I didn't take a good picture of the bushes themselves. Here is a shot of Mme. Leonie Viennot on the right with one bush of Souv d'un Ami on the far left, and the other directly behind Leonie.

Finally some close-ups of Souv. de Mme. Leonie Viennot.
