Well, let's hope Father Verizon, with the red hat and fur, treats you well this year! Do you have cable in your area that sells high-speed internet? I don't have DSL either - but 1/2 mile away in all directions they have it, so I got cable. My cable company claim 4MB download speed and I'm getting 3.86 consistently. Upload they claim 356 kbps and I do get that. You can check your true, vice claimed, connection speed on a website called Speakeasy.com My cable company is upgrading to 6MB in January. DSL claims 1.5MB so you might want to get a cable modem. They are faster, but it costs more. Worth it IMHO. My sister, who lives on a very rural horse farm, but is near Chapel Hill, NC has DSL on the farm (go figure). She also watches the Africam (and is hooked) on DSL and she gets freezing here and there, but not enough to make her not want to watch. Lately I've not gotten any freezing at all, but on the rare occasion when the site is extremely busy. CT

well live cam to what? there are thousands of live cams, to zoos, to Africa wildlife, to beaches, to New Orleans, you name it there are cams to watch. If you can be specific I can try to find some. I love to watch the ones at the beaches like Hawaii and just imagine I am there LOL! there are sites like this one that will list several different cams you can look at, be careful when searching for live cams however or you may find yourself in some questionable areas with live cams of the human animal variety! Well cats of course but I am glad to be reminded here of giraffes. In first grade I was taken to the Zoo in New York. I only remember the giraffes. They were living in a pen next to a path and there was a iron fence of spear shapes. They would eat peanuts out of your hand with their soft mouths but it looked to my young eyes like the spears had to hurt their necks. I eventually made myself a stuffed giraffe. When I was about 18 I went to a zoo in Florida and they had an orphan baby they were keeping in the petting zoo. It was so sad. So there I stood feeling sorry for it and it came up to me and put it's head on my shoulder and sighed so sadly. So sweet. Lots of people must have pictures. Birds are a hoot. As a child my grannie showed us a nest once. We had to be quiet and careful. The babies pretended to be dead. They stuck their little feet into the air and kept their eyes closed. If you were very quiet they would open an eye to check and snap it closed. I dont know what kind they were. I had a house in North Mississippi with a garage and the Tufted titmice babies would sun bath on the roof laid out with their wings spread out like bats and their feet stretched down. I have never seen anything like that in my life. I didnt have a camera at the time. Too weird.
