above ground pond

I have played with ponding for several years now, but never with anything very big. We are planning to build an above ground pond out of railroad ties. I have back problems, and hopefully this will be a way I can play a little without too much discomfort. The plan is for it to be either a 4X16 or an 8X12. It will be three ties high with a 2X10 or 2X12 treated top board for easy sitting and working. I'm thinking a 4X16 will be much easier to work on, but am unsure about the asthetics. Has anyone done anything like this? I would love to have a small waterfall. Any suggestions? Pics would be great!!!
