Name That Plant!

ID wanted to pink/white flowering vine

I found this vine growing "wild" on a backyard hillside, among ice-plant and ivy - San Diego, CA. It seems to be spreading prolifically. It has small white-appearing "buttercup" flowers, that are actually light pinkish on the back. Flowers are 1" across and leaves are 1.5"-2" in length. Gets sun most of the day and attracts bees. Water comes from natural rainfall only.

It looks like Calystegia macrostegia, California morning glory/hedge bindweed.

The bracts are wrong for C. macrostegia. Looks more like Convolvulus arvensis.

I thought it reminded me of the Morning Glory, but the flowers are smaller. I think the suggestion that it is Convolvulus arvensis has merit - from what I've found quickly, though, I am wondering if my lovely "find" has an evil down-side? Should I NOT be encouraging this? It is not very wide spread (yet), but is much prettier than the ice plant and ivy it has popped up among. From what I've read, I am wondering if I am dancing with the devil?

Convolvulus arvensis is called field bindweed because it tends to twine around and strangle any plants it comes in contact with. It can grow quickly and be difficult to get rid of.
