It looks like its too wet. Flowers will fall when they are done with their cycle. Are there holes in the pot it's in for drainage? I like to have a pot with lots of air holes, sides and bottom but it definitely needs drainage in the bottom. Make sure the moss isn't packed too tight. I keep it lose so the roots get lots of air. Forget the ice cube, when the moss is crispy dry on top and mostly dry inside, water with a lot of water and let it run completely through the pot. Then let it be until it gets completely dry again. If it doesn't dry completely in about 5-7 days, you might need to get orchid bark and use as a media. Do some research online about phalanopsis care and you'll find lots of information.

Oh yeah, waaaaaay too wet. That looks like one of those Lowes' orchids? You need to get rid of all that sphagnum moss and repot in a fast-draining mix. Google or Youtube how to repot phalaenopsis and you'll get tons of info. I started you off with one link below.

Thanks Carol! I also bought Orchid Focus Grow (fertilizer/food), anxiously waiting for it to come in the mail so that my baby can get some goodness! It's a 2.0-0.6-2.0 NPK ratio, so while it's not blooming it can work on growing it's leaves. Also, thanks for the cell phone tip! You've been very helpful :)

The pot looks too big for that plant. You have to be careful about your watering or you'll run into root rot. I don't think you mentioned the light you are giving the plant. You should move it to a bright window and only water when almost dry.

Only water it once a week. if you water it on the same day of the week you can keep up with it better. Only fertilize it once a month during growing season. Do not over fertilize it. You really need a pot that has multiple drainage holes or some way it can get better air to the root system. Pot is a little big also. Do not get leaves wet during watering.
I like to place mine in the shower stall after it is fogged up to soak up some of the humidity in the evenings. It really likes that. It should look much better in a few weeks. Remember under watering is better than overwatering and always let it drain well after the watering. Good luck.

I purchased the same potting mix from HD and I also purchased the spray fertilizer. I thought the mix was going to be great for my orchid but I soon found out that the mix started to deteriorate. On top of that I noticed a lot of tiny black flies around my orchid and little worms in the potting mix. I'm guessing the pests came from the potting mix since they weren't there when I first got rid of the moss medium my orchid came in. I dumped the orchid mix and switched to hydroton I bought at this local hydroponic store. Since then no pests. The orchid mix also led to root rot since the potting mix basically suffocated the roots and held much more water than a bark mix should. It says it is a coarse potting mix but it looks more like soil. It didn't work out for me and I hope it works out for you.
