Oh why, oh why did I get out of the hammock in front of the shotgun shack back in July, '75? Other than that, I'd more than likely be between Pescadero and Redwood City right now! My summer vacations were spent in the Sierras... except for that one.

Kinda think I got a 2 week stay of execution by TPC. Guess I'll find out. Same company since March of 1978 to present, there is no competition, and higher rates than most of the rest of the world. It took 4 months to get a temporary line run in back in 1977.

The 40 acres, house, shop, ~50 years of collected goodies that haven't been sold are all up for sale. The vultures are lined up in the sky.

Don't know if it'll pass mustard, commercial. The link below will let you go look at places you've lived in the past and maybe places you might like in the future. Back in my skool daze, got the experience of living under a really nice azalea below Blair House, a bunch of time in a barrack at Fort Meyer, and many nights under a friendly fir tree next to the Iwo Jima Memorial. Had to be 21 to sign a rental agreement and I was a looong way from L.A.! BTW, the bell carillon is a kick to climb.

Here's a short list of my reasons. Anticipation is always the majority of pleasure and fruit growing really stretches it out. A kid starts thinking about Christmas in Nov but I'm anticipating how my late apples will taste for 6 months. Also, every year is unpredictable with bummer and bumper crop separated by a single weather event or a pair of squirrels. Kind of makes you treasure success when there's some struggle preceding it. The depth of relationship with fruit trees is deeper than annuals as it can last a life time with a single tree and every inch of that tree has your handwork on it.

Wow, thanks so much @gooster! I've been eyeing the Coventry corner banquette forever and agonizing about the cost especially since I can't test it out. You were nice enough to respond to a post I wrote a few weeks ago on this and I've had your amazing kitchen reveal open ever since then. Do you happen to remember which fabric you chose? I have some samples already but was considering the Sunbrella heather grey (which I don't have.) The rest of my renovation is waiting till spring after a contractor disaster earlier this fall, and the whole experience of choosing the wrong person to write a big initial check to has made me even less capable of making decisions than I usually am. I feel like the sale is a nod to take the plunge finally.

Fori, I opened up all 7 boxes and they are all like that. I don't dislike them. I guess it's was not what I was expecting. Danalo and blfenton, here are some crummy pics I just can't get the actual colors. So frustrating! Thanks for taking a second look. ae2ga and hellonasty the sample is more crackled in a delicate way and more ivory. Definitely lighter. The samples are a wee bit smaller. But the actuals are all the same size. Thanks. Excellent idea palimpsest. Thanks! I put the samples away and lined up the actuals. The samples look exactly like the web. Sher_nc, I'm trying to decide if it bothers me. I ordered these in May. They were backordered. After many, many months of BS shopping, the tile house rep told me they were backordered and did I want to choose something else? Are you kidding me here?! I say...Just shoot me now! Dilly_ny, an interesting point. I was going to go with some Earth Song Celtic tiles. But I did not do any of the Celtic theme that was permanent. Knobs and lights, yes. But those are more easily replaced than a BS. Trying to walk the fine line here and not be over the top with the taste specific. Thanks for the luck, we thrive on it.

Just picked up a few straight-shaft Echo trimmers; have questions...

I have experimented related to your concern. I needed to stand straighter vs bending and have a good reach (due to back issues) with a lighter trimmer. I found the following to be challenges but not real issues. It all came to me from servicing and owning 8-10 donated trimmers. Many donated working or after small repairs. I donate as working or parts to Yardmen that saved used parts. These Echo Power Heads can be challenging, time consuming (from lack of maintenance). All have worked well w/o any locked so far. Such as, an Echo HCA 2400 Power Head was on an Extended Hedge Trimmer that laid openly on the ground over a year. It runs well “directly on a string trimmer”. A killer PE-200 was given to me after starting easy and only idling. I finally got the carb repaired/adjusted as I promised the donator it needed (w/o spending a penny vs left over parts is “OR” Was My Killer). My 03 retirement is slowing on Donations And Volunteering, LOL! 1. My best powers were commercial grades engines with solid steel drive shafts and heavier power heads in some cases. 2. With a collection of trimmers (various brands) I started to mix & Match (WITH CAUTIONS) with Echo SRM mid grade engines (that had proven in 10 yrs of use to be a good power heads). 3. My goal was to use my Echo SRM 210 that has worked since 2000 w/o any problems. It was a straight shaft with a cable and string. It’s now a straight shaft and hard blade. The idea and hard blade head came from my Commercial Green Machine and “no more bending”. 4. I also wanted to keep a straight shaft with a string and did with an Echo HCA power head. 5. I also added a split straight shaft (for string/hard blade attachments) to an Echo PE-2000 Power Head.

Fort..that's a great link and a lot of fun to try out. I found all our old houses there. The Eagles bring back many memories for me too more so than a lot of groups for some reason. They recorded a lot of many songs...Heartache Tonight,Peaceful Easy Feeling,Lying Eyes,The Best of My Love and so many more. One of my favorites,although not as well know as the others was I Can't Tell You Why. One sexy song.

I use to like the Eagles. Until the summer the dh was paining the trim on the house and played the Eagles greatest hits over and over and over.
