For the tomato, no. It is a huge plant. Get 10 gallon or larger for best result. For the cukes you can get by with 5 gallon. For the rest it all depends on how much you want to grow, how often you want to feed and water - smaller than 5 gallons will require multiple daily waterings and at least weekly feedings. One head of romaine can easily fill a 2 or 3 gallon container. The onions could fit 4 in a 5 gallon bucket, smaller if it is shallower but wider. Several of your choices are shallow rooted so rather than deep pots consider shallower and wider types of containers Best to check out the Container Gardening forum here for more recommendations as that forum specializes in containers. hello to all. yes it is that time again and for some of us (Lowes stores) the first time in a couple of years. I have been trying for the last year to get the "bag babies" back in my store in saginaw michigan. This year is the first year in the last 2 years that we will see them. its not a matter of what sells well all the time. sometimes its the deals we make with vendors to sell their product. I do not know about the other stores, but I have tried hard to get these items back in, and after a year of trying I finally have them coming back to my store!! I find it upsetting that some of your local Lowes do not get them. So I offer this to you....if you wish to get some and are interested in emailing me that you are, I will email you with a listing of what I get in. I dont have them yet but they are on the way as soon as weather warms up. if you are interested in any of them I will purchase them and I can set up arrangements for you to purchase them from me. I am an avid orchidist, and I will make sure the orchids are in good shape before shipment. I do not sell junk plants (thats why we have a clearance rack for items that turn by means we can not control). if they are bad when shipped I get credit and you get pristine plants in the end. Miss Amy, your box did arrive yesterday and I apologize for not posting sooner. My grandbaby just went home and I wasn't online. Anyways, Amy sent me a wonderful box. It has a bottle holder in shades of blue and off white, an awesome assortment of mixes to put in my water, a hummingbird feeder, a rose scented soap, and seeds :prairie coneflower, blazing stars, portulaca, blanket flower, purple spiderwort! I think I got burned on consignment a couple of years ago, so I didn't really want to do that unless you all gave it glowing reviews, saying it was terrific (and I was totally unlucky)!!! I overheard friends at work who have children 3 months-24 months old lamenting how they were trying to get by, so they got the clothes. As to the textbooks, I guess I can try craigslist or free cycle. I can't imagine someone wanting a chemistry book for a purse, just seems icky. Maybe I'll write one of those cute Craigslist entries: "They're a handy four-in-one tool. You can make some purses out of them!!! Use them for your homeschooled college student!!! Tired of all that constant burning from steam irons? Well no more! Iron your clothes the easy way, just set these tomes on top your shirt at night leaving the work to the books, and in the moring it'll be flat as can be! Missing a leg for your table? Use these to prop it up instead!" Only, I'm not witty enough for that. Well, off to find someone looking for outdated university textbooks.
