We have mantids! (and stickbugs, and skinks, and velvet ants, and several lepidoptera, and sadly, more ticks than anyone should have to deal with!)
I was walking around the backyard and asked my fiance what was on the one branch- looked like a jellybean formed around the stem out of brown sugar crystals- Jerry said theyre Mantis egg cases! I found mamma about a foot away on the underside of a leaf. and several more egg casings! I also found a large male towards the front of the house.
Ladybugs and mantids. Now to focus on Umberliferae for the beneficial wasps!
