Understanding organic vs inorganic NPK values etc

According to Rodales organic gardening book Greensand has the following NPK values

N/0 P/1-2 K/5

According to the Espoma bag, greensand has the following NPK values

N/0 P/0 K/.1

Now that's a pretty big descrepancy.

My understanding is that it has something to do with labeling requires only the readily available nutrients be listed.

I also am of the understanding that "roots" will break down and take up the potash that is not readily available.

That being said, my orgain soils report says I need to add potassium and greensand is listed as an option, and the amounts suggested agree with the back of the bag.

Do I need to add a readily available source of potassium also? I mean, is the soil report taking into consideration the amount that is not readily available in the sample? If not then who's to say the greensand I've put in over the last couple years isn't in the process of breaking down and will be enough for the plants to use...

Do I need to add greensand every year?

Planning on using some sort of ash for the shot in the arm potassium (my soil is acid).
