Does anyone recognise this rescued Phal. NOID?

Last year I recued tis Phal from the clutches of Walmart. It had finished blooming and was standing in water. Poor thing.Of course it had few good roots,so I gave it the sphag and bag treatment,and this year it is in good health and blooming. The color is pale yellow blending into peach with some magenta,blossom is 2Â¼ inches in diameter,and the stem is 8Â½ inches tall.It has a faint pleasant aroma.

I have seen some similar Phals on the Internet,but they are not exactly the same. Does this look familiar to anyone?

You should check the web site for Baldan's Orchids. I have a couple of their crosses that look very similar to yours. It could be anyone's cross but alot of theirs have the little speckling like that. I have one that looks almost exactly like that but mine is a little darker. They may be related. My soon to be husband tossed the tag out the other day because I left it on the computer desk. But I know I keep their invoices I'll check for it.

I have one of these that I rescued from a local grocery store! The florescence is slightly paler, and it has a very nice iridescence to the petals, with a few "freckles". I'd like to give it a name as well--looks like it's made the rounds in the retail market. Mine is on its second bloom cycle, and it turned out to be a hardy trooper.

Whitecat, A look at your photos made me think, "What would I name this?" So I googled Phal Yellow Bird and there was one! (Dtps. Pisgah Sands 'Yellow Bird') But it wasn't yours. There were, however, others and one which, though variable, looks very like your orchid. You can see Phal Brother Golden Potential 'Orchid Heights' on Owens Orchids thumbnail gallery (url below) P. Bro. Golden Potential is slightly more than halfway down the lefthand photo list of thumbnails (using the scroll bar). Clicking the thumbnail will show it in the enlarged area. If the changing picture reverts to a "404 Not Found" error, just re-click the thumbnail. A photo of Dtps. Pisgah Sands Yellow Bird is in there, too (a third of the way down) :) Other pictures of P. Bro. Golden Potential are also at Bedford Orchids and Robert-Bedard sites. The Owens looks most like your flower's shape and color. I don't think it's Sara Gold, but there are now tons of mini's hitting the market, many with that kind of colouring. I actually recently got 7 different crosses that are very similar, though a couple are more amboinensis shaped. Also, seems that with the breeding, they've lost the Sara Gold fragrance. Only one of mine was fragrant. If you're interested, I can e-mail you the names of the crosses I have when I get home next week. Sorry I can't be of more help. Julie P.S. Thanks for the suggestion,Kermit. I have a Baldan's Kaleidoscope,which doesn't look like it,but didn't know there were other Baldans lurking out there.

I have such an issue with tags!!! They drive me crazy and I try to be so cautious to save them.

That off of my chest, this is an example of what I am talking about. This one has 4 parents. Can't remember what they were...same for the other one that looks more like yours. Yours definately has Doritis in it. And yes Baldan's has tons of others.

Your phal is Phal Summer Beach. A highly ubiquitous hybrid of the peachy persuasion. I always enjoy these guys.

terpguy,I looked it up,and it is! Thankyou! It now has 2 blossoms open, and a minute bud ready to open sometime in the future. I love it. Not as garish as some others and doesn't take up a lot of space.
