I don’t think it is fremontii, but there are a whole lot of somewhat obscure garden hybrids as well as a range of species and species selections that are short and have these cute little bells. Regardless, it is lovely!

I believe I have sealed up any holes into the house that are dime sized or larger at ground level. That said, I heard they are good climbers and there is a vent to an attic fan on the side of the house. Could they be coming in through that even though it is 3 floors high and not against the roof? Additionally, I have never seen any evidence of them on the 2nd floor. Only in the basement and kitchen. My concern is that there could be dozens by now in the wall voids that got in from a broken window that was fixed several months ago. Aside from the attic fan vent, there aren’t any more ground level (up to the second floor windows) exterior points of entry I could find when I surveyed the exterior of the house. That being said, there are dozens of holes in the interior walls and ceiling in the interior of the house. Especially in the basement and kitchen. These rooms also have a lot of spaces near plumbing where something could travel from one room to the other but not outdoors. In some parts of the basement, there is a very accessible void where the pipes and wires run through the ceiling (and up to the kitchen). The same goes for the kitchen which is the other room I seem to be finding the mice. Still, none of these pipes or wires lead to the outside of the house and the garage is detached. I am quite stumped. Still, I will try to seal up as many interior cracks and spaces as suggested I can. Unfortunately though, some of these gaps near the plumbing between the kitchen and basement are quite large and may need drywall. I also bought about 15 more traps.

Wash it with some soap, water, and soft brush then see if there is any signature. Lots of this type of item were mass marketed but if there is a signature, probably on the back you might find more information.

I think it is two pieces: A large base and a smaller diameter upper part. I see where the two pieces come together and the top piece is off center. To correct loosen the fastener (rod or tube) that holds it together, shift and hold the two pieces in place while tightening the fastener. I see a parting line indicating this is a cast part. There are many ways to make a casting and I don't believe the manufacturer would use a very expensive injection molding die. This was probably cast by pouring low melting temperature metal (pot metal) into a mold. A finish was applied to emulate a more expensive piece. If this is solid brass or bronze, you have an expensive lamp. I think it is lower cost. Its much easier to get all those highly detailed decorations with pot metal than with high temperature metal. If this is a 2 piece lamp, I'd expect it to be held together with a rod, or more likely, a tube. The ends of the tube is threaded and thin nuts hold everything in place, The lamp wire runs through the tube. The lamp socket and shade harp is an ordinary replaceable part available in hardware stores selling lamps and wiring devices. The one on this lamp is made by Levitron. The lamp cord looks like a new replacement to me. If so, let hope whoever did the rewire gave attention to points where the wire might chafe. Also, there should be provision for a strain relief to keep tugs on the cord from pulling on the screw terminals where the electrical connections were made. This is often done with simple knot at top near the wiring terminals. There is one thing you may wish to inspect and that is the condition of a cardboard shell that keeps the terminal screws and errant wire ends from touching the outer socket. If that connection is ever made, the lamp is dangerous because the lamp socket would be touching a live circuit wire. The paper-board shell is inside the lamp socket where the switch is. It surrounds the switch assembly. It should be in good shape. If it is discolored, brittle, or charred, replace the lamp socket/switch. Unfortunately, I have never seen this insulator for sale as a separator part. These lamp sockets come in slightly different shapes and the paperboard insulator is shaped to fit. This is an inexpensive piece and a commonly replaced part.
