Dreamtime

Here is the poem in full J.Sims

Dream time

I left my reasoning mind at home

to tend the fire.

While I journeyed into dimensions unknown.

I sang with my gods

And danced with my demons.

Found them to be one and the same.

Climbed mountains unborn.

Swam in seas long dried.

Under a blue star - light years away.

I saw galaxies created

in the wink of an eye.

Ever spiraling to infinity.

I discovered the magic of cells,

Each containing the whole universe.

My consciousness expanded

As far as imagination would allow.

My reasoning mind beckoned.

I heeded the call.

Waking up to the alarm clock.

My mate asked me at breakfast

If I had dreamed.

"No" I answered, "The night was uneventful".

Joann, awesome would be my word too. You are very very talented. My favorite poet is Rainer Maria Rilke and he has been for a long time. When I read your poem,it just fit like a glove,in the same kind of way his does. It was pure pleasure reading this.

Hi Benny i knew for sure this was happening already, its just to much hassle to trim all the leaves off each one doing it on all the plants when there can be over a hundred figs to look at on each plant and therfore over a hundred leaves it does no affect the taste only the looks.

Echoing others, Thermorest. Campmor is the place to get them. The 48" trail lite goes for $30 on sale, about $50-60 for the comfy 72" version. I have four that still work flawlessly after 7-10 years, heavily used, and are great on the floor for overnight guests. No rips, tears, or punctures. One note, I store mine not rolled up under my bed. It keeps them more resilient in my opinion. Same for the sleeping bags. Allows a 10 year old poly fill bag to still have loft, and keep you warm, after all these years. Laundryvet

You've got 11' of space to work with for the vanities. I would do 1 - 15" wide linen tower at the far end by the window to give the toilet area a little more privacy, 2 - 33" sink bases, & 1 - 18" drawer stack in between the sink bases. This leaves 33" for a makeup vanity space. I would likely put this between the linen tower and a sink base so you could take advantage of the natural light through the window and again, afford more privacy in the toilet area as the sink area is used more than the makeup vanity (usually). 4'+ is a huge amount of room for the toilet area--3' wide is plenty. I would take those extra inches and add them to the tub or the shower to make them count the most. Have you picked out your tub yet? If not, you may want to start looking. A 6' long tub often only gives you a 5' long bathing space at the top and even shorter at the bottom of the bathing space along with 6" of deck space at either end. That may or may not be long enough for you. I like the full wall between the tub & toilet area better. I think some artwork or niched shelves on that end of the tub would look great. Hope this helps! Very well written!

The Dream Time is an Aborigines concept.

From Wiki....

Aboriginals believe in two forms of time. Two parallel streams of activity. One is the daily objective activity ... The other is an infinite spiritual cycle called the "dreamtime," more real than reality itself. Whatever happens in the dreamtime establishes the values, symbols, and laws of Aboriginal society. Some people of unusual spiritual powers have contact with the dreamtime.

Joann, I love your poem. I hope you'll share more with us. You have a unique voice but call forth universal images and emotions we all recognize. Brava!

I hope that you'll submit this poem to the New Yorker, the only mainstream publication that I know of that regularly publishes poetry. I'm so thankful that Lilo shared a snippet with us...it was a great appetizer but I liked the whole meal better...and definitely deserves a wider audience. josh

Your poem touched my soul as few have ever done. I too have been at that place in Dreamtime.
In a way some particle physcisest(SP) theorests beleive along the same lines as the aborigines.
