Unknown berry-bearing shrub

I photographed a shrub by the side of the road this week. It has broad, toothed, deeply divided leaves and small blackberry-like berries. I'd love to know what it is -- I don't know if it's native or not.

If it's native, I'd guess Morus rubra, RED MULBERRY.

Looks like Morus alba (white mulberry) to me. The underside of the leaves and young twigs of Red Mulberry tend to be fuzzy. White mulberry is introduced.

It's arrowwood viburnum, Viburnum dentatum. A pretty common native shrub, and there are some cultivars on the market sold as ornamentals. The fruits of some viburnums are edible, but apparently, from what I've heard, this one is not. The birds like it, though.

Unknown berries...anyone willing to identify?

Looks like Sarcococca or Sweet box, to me. I've never heard of the fruit being poisonous but I have also never heard of it being edible. I live in Raleigh NC and out here they bloom around February in the dead of winter and it takes almost all year for the fruit to ripen.

In the close up picture, there is one piece that looks different (leaf is smooth, stem is reddish) - that is definitely honeysuckle. The other may be honeysuckle too if the leaves are opposite, either a different kind or older leaves perhaps.

Thanks to both of you -- just knowing it's Mulberry is an excellent start. I will have to go back and check its fuzziness.

After searching some more in these forums, I came across a link that makes me think my plant is white mulberry:

Thanks again for your help. Now I know that I might like to plant native red mulberry in my yard.
