Few comments and questions. Have a woodchuck(groundhog) living uner my shed, next to my garden. I am still trying to catch him with a live trap. My compost bin is about two feet behind my garden, last year I saw him stretch from the top of the compost pile to the top of the fence to get in, and actually climbed the fecne ...about two foot wire fence to get out when I ran to the garden to get him. I did adjust the fence in that area since to try and keep it from happening again. I also have rabbits every where and not sure if they are able to get in the garden. Again fence in most area is about 2'. Only ever caught one rabbit in and it was a baby and squeezed throught the holes. I still loose plants chewed down to nubs. Have not found anywhere that someting has got through or under fence. Don't know if something is scaling fence or hoping over. I need help too.

Or skunks. Any of the above can be guilty of digging in lawns. Squirrels are hiding things for winter. Skunks are going after grubs or worms. Raccoons just dig for the heck of it sometimes, but also to feed. On the down side, it causes some damage. On the up side, it means you have a healthy enough locale that they're comfortable poking around and happy.

It looks like something just ripped it apart, or maybe drove over it. It is not in an area where a vandle would bother it. All my other fruit trees are fine. Would a raccon have done that? We have lots of wildlife in the area. The only thing that the deer do is to nibble on the new growth.

I came across the Bermuda Bible here on this site. I've scanned through it. Need to read it more carefully. But I think I'm doing most things right. I'm watering it infrequently but sufficiently. Since going with the reel mower, I've been cutting to about 1.25". Once my grass is back to fully healthy, I'd like to get it down to 1". I have been feeding it monthly, but I'm about to try something different: I'm going to go with a liquid foliar fertilizer. I recently ordered a 31 gallon spray rig I can tow behind my riding mower. The spray rig has a boom, and I'll be using this product every 7-14 days: http://www.griggbros.com/products/proven-foliar/garysgreenultra I haven't started with this liquid fertilizer yet, but pick it up on Tuesday and my spray rig shows up Tuesday - Thursday, so will be spraying it this week. I plan to refine a fertilizer program utilizing both a granular/slow release product and this Gary's Green Ultra.
