How to prevent introducing nasties?

In particular, bush snails. (Oh how I hate them.) I got a few new orchids today, and surprisingly, a bonus orchid (that has never happened to me before!) and they all need to go into a terrarium environment soon, I believe. But I can't put them in my one terrarium due to snail issues that I'm fighting, and the other one is snail free and I'd like to keep it that way. How do you treat new plants to prevent introducing pests to your collection? What I'm thinking of doing is soaking them underwater for a bit, then a bit of systemic, topped with a little snail bait. The systemic unfortunately doesn't kill snails, otherwise I'd stop with that. Too much? I really really don't want to introduce pests to my terrarium.
