Where to buy conttonseed meal, fish meal

I am in Dallas and have lots of plants, vegs, and flowers. I am wondering if any of you know if there is a place that sell conttonseed, fish meal around Dallas? They are little bit expensive in HD.

I heard that someone mentioned that he bought 50lb conttonseed meal for $15.

Try any farm feed supply store.

Most natural protein fertilizers are disquised as animal or pet food products too.

I use cheap no-salt cattle or horse feeds as protein fertilizers. Rich in corn and soybean and other nutrients.

Fish meal is in almost all cat food products and catfish food products.

Cottonseed meal is sold in many hog feeds.

Wells Brothers is in Plano and McKinney and is good. Its probably a little more expensive than a regular old feed store, but they cater to the orgainic gardeners as well and have lots of good stuff. Also, FYI I got a 50lb bag of cottonseed meal from them for $9. Below is their website. Its worth the trip if you are on the north side of town.

According to the people that should know about these things say no. Putting blood and/or bone meal on your garden will not result in the foods grown in that soil up taking these potential brain destroyers unless you eat the soil they were grown in. I use feather meal. It is the same nitrogen content as fish meal 12% for half the price. I'm sure some of the other things in fish meal make it a better product but my garden is so large and exspensive to ammend. Animals like feather meal too. My dogs lick it if they can. I water it in and put mulch on top and that seems to help. The roses have responded really well to this.

I personally like to use fish/seaweed emulsion and blend in neem oil with an emulsifier (cheap soap). Neptune's harvest - which I personally prefer as it is a cold process type (retaining the moist micro/macros) and the least offensive smell. It's 2-3-1, but the thing is, you'll be applying it more often. It's also (supposedly) absorbed more effectively. I, personally, once a week mix up a tablespoon of neem oil with an emulsifier (I use dr. bronner's soap unscented), I generally use a tablespoon or less. I then mix in an 1/8 cup of fish/sea weed emulsion. This is then mixed into a gallon of water and I use it as a soak/spray for all my plants once a week. Usually late in the day towards sunset or first thing in the morning. I don't advise doing in the morning because the risk of photo-toxicity. I like the effect of neem mixed with it because it provides a harmful insecticidal defense as well as a pathogen defense and seems to keep the critters away from the otherwise tempting scent of fish emulsion. Buford, If the fish heads are cod, you might make a convert of your DH if the heads come with their cheeks. Cod cheeks are a delicacy that most of us have to go to Nova Scotia to enjoy (it's on my bucket list) Patricia, The boat was moved from Decatur to Florence yesterday. A long story. To a nicer marina. Towed by friends because our manifold started an untimely leak. This fall we need to have a rose ramble, even if we just get together for Birmimingham garden visit. Do you know about the winter of 1898? Back OnT Did I tell you about the vultures near the road two weeks ago on our way into Blaine? (Narrow road, vultures covered most of it.) Coming back out, I saw that they hadn't been after an armadillo carcass, but a really big ugly carp. I guess some fisherman caught it, decided to make sure it didn't get back to the water to reproduce..... I was tempted to retrieve it for some rosey recycling. It was just over the too big to handle with two hands...And the vultures had been selective for their lunch entree.

It's located on the SE portion of Dallas County about 1 mile east of I-635 on I-20. Once you hit I-20 eastbound take exit 481 (Seagoville Rd). Green Acres Feed Store is located right off the I-20 off-ramp on the right side of the road.
