Gingerbread Mailmen

1 cup molasses

1 cup water

6 cups all purpose flour

1 Tsp. cinnamon

4 Tbsp. chopped fresh ginger

1 Tsp. salt

4 Tbsp. honey

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 Tsp. baking soda

1 Tsp. ground cloves

1/2 cup raisins

Directions

In a med. bowl combine the molasses, honey, water and oil. In another bowl mix the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt. Stir this gently into the molasses mixture. Make sure to mix well with a wooden spoon. Divide this dough into four.

Make each piece into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 3-5 hours. Next preheat oven to 200° F. Grease two cookie sheets. Roll out dough on floured surface. Cut dough with cookie cutter.

Bake 10-15 minutes or until cookies are lightly brown.

Makes 24.

Peanut Butter Doggy Biscuits

1 cup peanut butter

1-1/2 cups whole wheat flour

1 Tbsp. baking powder

1/2 Tsp. salt

3/4 cup cold milk

Combine the flour with the baking powder and salt. Add milk and peanut butter and stir to form a dough. Roll out the dough to 1/2" thickness. Cut dough with cookie cutter. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350° F for 20 minutes or until brown.

Makes 42 cookies.

Kitty Catnip Cookies

1-1/4 cup whole wheat flour

1/4 cup soy flour

1/4 cup water

1 egg

2 Tbsp. wheat germ

2 Tbsp. molasses

2 Tbsp. margarine

1 Tsp. organic catnip

Directions

Preheat oven to 350° F. In a large bowl combine all the above ingredients. Lightly flour a rolling pin and roll out batter onto a greased cookie sheet. Score into 1/2" pieces.

Bake for 20 minutes. Cool and break into pieces.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
